RPG-Shops in Nuremberg

Rpg : Nbg : Shops
Utopia/Ad Astra/The Hourglass

Utopia was the first shop in Nuremberg commonly to be heard of, selling goods from beyond this world - and probably the only one which existed in Nuremberg one and a halve decades ago. They sold everything from RPGs, books, comics to collectibles. One day, Utopia was closed and re-opened under the name Ad Astra, most likely due to political issues. At last, Ad Astra, too, was struck by time and closed its gates for ever. It has been re-opened for a second time some months ago by a different team of shop keepers, now be called The Hour Glass. Things have changed even more in the new shop. The keepers perform a RPG sell out. New RPG articles have been compressed to a couple of small shelves. What they sell primarily now are comics and trading cards. This seems to be why a lot of young kids haunt the sacred halls nowadays. One day, the youngsters will probably take over the shop altogether.

Aladin

When it opened, Aladin was just a tiny shop principally selling board games and toys, the latter of which mainly consisting of wood. They also sold some RPGs. Actually, it was very difficult to move around inside the tiny shop without colliding with one of the numerous piles of nice things (especially when you wore a backpack), which took nearly every square inch of the shop's exhibition space. Even the venders, who always offered to help their customers politely, were crammed behind the counter with dragged elbows. Some day, they closed and re-opened the shop at its current position, probably because their customers couldn't move any more due to the lack of space, that is, were condemmed to neither be able to enter, or leave the shop. The old attitude has grown in respective proportions ever since: They still sell nice wooden toys, board games, RPGs, miniatures and books. The shop is always a place to visit.

Projekt Sieben

Recently, Aladin spawned a new shop, which covers a comparatively large area in the brand new Prisma building. Whereas Aladin cultivates its traditional ambiente framed by wooded toys and soft classical music, P7 is mainly beleaguered, above all, by younger people. P7 might be regarded as some sort of RPG superstore (or -market) offering the broadest variety of goods in respect of RPGs, books, LARP utilities, dice and miniatures. It also focuses on miniatures and tabletop, featuring a large amount of exposed items. Customers are treated gently and often invited to take a seat at one of the numerous tables, join a game session and talk to each other.
