Middle Earth Role Playing

MERP was introduced to combine a sub set of Rolemaster's rules with J. R. R. Tolkien's Middleearth. Although cursed by many puristic Rolemaster disciples for the game's simplified rules, MERP is quite successful and has spawned many scenario books and Middleearth-related material, which can also easily be used with Rolemaster, since MERP's rules are downwardly compatible with the latter. Followers of Tolkien's world can find interesting resources in MERP products, which do not necessarily need to be combined with RPGs only, but can also just be used to gain precious insights in the world and its creatures and cultures as such.
