HârnmasterWhile Hârnmaster provides players with a complex, yet fluently playable RPG system for generic, medieval fantasy settings, HârnWorld provides the corresponding geographical environment. Both may be used separately, but work best when combined with each other. Hârnmaster's rules set comprehends almost everything a GM can dream of: finely-granulated attributes, balanced characters as well as a realistic method of resolving actions fluently. Maintaining the game flow is quite important for the daily use of a RPG system. Many interesting systems lack realism to a great extend, while, on the other hand, others are realistic, but suffer from so much complexity that it is hardly possible to do routine jobs without having to look up several formulas and values in thick tomes. Hârnmaster offers both. It it relatively easy to comprehend without giving you the feeling that something important is missing. Hârnmaster appears most suitable for players who prefer to rely on realism in regard of simulating their game world, while taking into account a certain amount of complexity to drive this approach. If you like Rolemaster, but do not appreciate the idea of cross-referencing multitudes of tables, Hârnmaster might be the appropriate tool for you. |
