Das Schwarze Auge

Das Schwarze Auge (German for The Black Eye) is probably the most wide spread German RPG in Germany. All adventures take place in the continent Aventurien. Aventurien, its realms and cultures have been described quite precisely, which is both, a blessing as well as a course: most supportive GMs seem to prefer detailed backgrounds and worlds, while their antagonists (silently cursing DSA for this fact) put forward that predetermined worlds, regions and cities prevent a GM from letting his or her own fantasy flow. Aventurien consists of similar heroes, creatures and magic as most of the other medieval fantasy worlds. However, Aventurien tends to be good-hearted in most aspects, a trait that seems to be common among most German RPG-related publications, such as Midgard. Consequently DSA may be regarded as a RPG that targets adults as well as juvenile players.
